Database Design Class Announced!

We’re excited to announce that SQL Server MVP and author Louis Davidson (LinkedIn, blog, book) will be presenting a one day class on database design on September 13, 2018. Cost of the class is $149 and includes lunch. Students will need SQL Server 2017 and SQL Server Management Studio installed on a laptop before class. SQLSaturday Orlando 2018 Registration is Open

Today we opened up registration for our 12th annual SQLSaturday. SQLSaturday is a free one day training event organized and presented by volunteers, held on the campus of Seminole State College in Lake Mary. SQLSaturday is part of PASS (formerly the Professional Association of SQL Server), visit their site for more information on SQLSaturday as well as other training and networking opportunities including the annual PASS Summit.

First SQLOrlando Meetup

On May 23 we held our first meetup in downtown Orlando. Kendal Van Dyke from Microsoft and Tom Staab from Amazon gave presentations on SQL Server in the cloud. We had 59 register and 28 attend, pretty good for a new location. Sponsorship was provided by Quest Software and SNI Technology.

Our next downtown meetup is tentatively planned for early August. Join the meetup group to get news about all SQL events in the Orlando area.

Founding SQLOrlando

In August 2017 we held our first meeting to launch SQLOrlando. We’re a real 501c(3), a not for profit with a mission to serve the SQL community in the Orlando area. The first order of business was to seat the Board of Directors, consisting of Andy Warren, Kendal Van Dyke, Shawn McGehee, Esteban Garcia, Bradley Ball, Mike Antonovich, and Kathleen Branch. after which the Board approved the by-laws. Minutes of that meeting will be posted after they are voted on at the next Board meeting to be held sometime in 2018.
